Curriculum & What Participants Learn

Participants learn where abusive behaviors come from and what to do about them. The Positive Solutions programs provide a safe environment for clients to accept responsibility for their actions, develop skills to respond to conflict productively, and gain additional insight by hearing about other’s experiences.

All of our courses follow a similar curriculum developed here at The Center and informed by decades of practical experience. Classes cover topics such as The Cycle of Abuse, Responsibility & Accountability, Childhood Trauma, Healthy Communication, and Conflict Resolution.

Our Approach

Our groups provide structure, support, and guided discussion. We focus on accountability, skill-building, and practical strategies participants can use immediately in their relationships and daily lives.

We use people-first language like “people who cause harm,” while understanding that some referral sources may use legal terms like “BIP.”

How It Works

  1. Schedule an intake: Email us to share your goals, requirements, and availability.
  2. Attend weekly: Sessions include discussion, reflection, and skill practice.
  3. Show progress: Participants practice new patterns at home, work, and in the community.

CAP and MAAP are California State Certified 52-week BIP programs. Anger Management meets court requirements.
