Please consider contacting the Center for help if the answer to any of the following questions is yes:

Has someone continued to pressure you or forced you to engage in sex or sexual acts when you were resisting or have said no?

Were you molested as a child or minor?

Did you tell someone who did not believe you or was afraid to tell you or you would be believed?

Were you intoxicated or under the influence of substances at the time and therefore unable to give your consent at the time of the sexual assault or sexual act?

Were you exposed or encouraged to watch pornography as a child or minor?

Were you exposed or encouraged to watch pornography as an adult when you didn’t want to?

Talking about sexual abuse can be scary.  Our years of working with survivors of sexual abuse have shown us that talking to someone who understands and is trained to provide support can be one of the most important parts of healing. The experienced staff at The Center are here to assist in reducing the impact of sexual abuse.

Sexual abuse may impact a survivor’s daily life no matter when it happened.  The impact on each individual is different. Some common emotional reactions include guilt, shame, fear, numbness, shock, and feelings of isolation.

Sexual abuse can also affect parents, friends, partners, children, spouses, and/or coworkers of the survivor.  As they try to make sense of what happened, loved ones may experience similar reactions and feelings to those of the survivor such as fear, guilt, shame, self-blame, and anger.

If left unaddressed, the long-term psychological effects may include post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) anxiety, and depression.

We are here to help.  We know what happened to you was not your fault and nothing you did or didn’t do caused this to happen.  We care about you and will provide you with the guidance and support necessary for you and those you love to reduce the impact of sexual abuse.
